A BRIEF ON Detective Stories: The Who, What, Where, How And When? - Part 2

In a typical DS, the crime occurs near the beginning. A man, perhaps, is found murdered. Who did it and why? A Detective is called to inquire. He gradually finds out various pieces of info, or 'clues'. Some seem unimportant, but are really useful. Others seem important, but turn out to be useless.
