Pro-Faleke protesters lay siege to INEC office

Protesters clamouring for the declaration of Hon. Abiodun Faleke today, laid siege to the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
They called on the electoral commission to shelve its proposed supplementary poll in the state and declare Faleke as governor-elect.

The protesters who arrived the commission’s headquarters at about 11:00am on Thursday, said the scheduled supplementary poll was an afront on democracy.
One of the protesters who is a lawyer, Hajia Halima Alfa said Audu had won the election before his death.
She said that margin between the two leading parties was more than the number of voters with PVCs in the affected polling units and that INEC erred by not declaring the late Audu as the winner of the election.
“INEC was not sincere with democracy and the Kogi people.
Only 25,000 voters have PVCs in the 91 polling units where elections were cancelled. Going by the 41,000 margin with which the APC was leading, the party had won the election.
“We are in a situation in which even if all the 25,000 voters cast their votes for PDP, the election had already been won by the Audu/Faleke ticket.
INEC should not toy with the destinies of the over 500,000 people that voted during the election. Faleke should therefore be declared the governor-elect of the state”.
Vanguard gathered that majority of the protesters were supporters of the deceased politician and his running mate, Hon. Abiodun Faleke.
It would be recalled that INEC declared the Kogi governorship poll inconclusive before the demise of Audu. The commission said there are about 49,989 votes to be contested for.
The APC has also replaced the late politician with Alh. Yahaya Bello who came second during the August 29 governorship primary of the party.

Ice Prince preaches against pre-marital sex

*Ice Prince Zamani Ice Prince may have learnt one or two lessons from having a child outside wedlock as the young man, perhaps from experience, advised students of the University of Lagos against having pre-marital sex. At the MTV Base Suga Tour where the singer was one of the artistes that performed, Ice Prince thrilled the students and other guests with hits from his albums, making them dance and dance as they sang along with him. Amid the fun, some of the students inflated condoms and turned them into balloons and started tossing them around the auditorium. It was then Ice Prince caught one of the condom turned balloons and started preaching against pre-marital sex. His advice was well accepted but it didn’t stop one or two of the students talking about Ice Prince being a father. “This guy thinks we don’t know that he has a child outside wedlock or does he think we would have forgotten so quickly. I think he should have given himself this advice before impregnating a w...

JOKE: AKPORS: Like father, like son

Akpors and his father were visiting the shopping mall for the first time. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and back together again. Akpors asked his father, AKPORS: “Daddy what is this?” His father [never having seen an elevator] responded; DAD: “Akpors, I have never seen anything like this in my life before, I don’t know what it is.” While Akpors and his father were watching wide-eyed, an old woman of 72 years of age walked towards the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the woman rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and Akpors and his father watched small circles of lights with numbers above the walls light up. They continued to watch the circles light up in the reverse direction. The walls opened up again and a beautiful young woman of 22 years of age stepped out. Akpors’ father said to him, DAD: “Run fast, go and bring your mother.”
