REPORT: Massive Explosion Rocks Yola; Many Feared Dead

A fatal explosion has gone off at a Motor Park in Yola, Adamawa State.
The explosion was so loud it could be heard all over the city, Premium Times reports.

Many people are feared dead but a casualty figure hasn't been released.
“I am currently at the scene and we are helping to evacuate injured to the Hospital, there are many dead bodies all over the place,” an eyewitness, Mohammed Dansabe said.
The scene of the blast is close to the main vegetable market in the town and the explosion occurred as traders were closing for the day and rushing home.

Catholic Bishop of Makurdi Diocese, Rt Rev ( Dr) Wilfred Anagbe, has urged the incoming governor of Benue state, Dr Samuel Ortom, to put security issue top on his priority as he takes on the reins of power this week. Anagbe who gave the advice during his sermon at a thanksgiving service held in honour of the Governor-elect at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral stressed the need for Ortom to handle all problems with the power of the Holy Ghost, opining that Benue people have been killed by herdsmen for no just cause. “Our people don’t need to face security challenges from the Fulani anymore; in the middle of March, Fulani killed over 80 people in Agatu, nobody has spoken, not Federal Government, not the state government.” Anagbe who expressed concern over the incessant killing of the a benue people by Fulani herders maintained that during the times of Jesus, diseases were sent away from human beings into over 2000 pigs which died but here, the Fulani say cows are more impor...
