President Buhari Appoints 18 New Permanent Secretaries [See Names]

Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the names of the new Permanent Secretaries for the Federal Government. His announcement was made through his spokesman, Femi Adesina.

The total number of new appointees is 54, including 18 placed in the Federal Civil Service. The statement noted that their appointment takes immediate effect.

Not less then 6 killed in fresh Boko Haram attack near Maiduguri

At least six people have been killed during a raid by Boko Haram militants outside Nigeria's northeastern city Maiduguri in Borno state, a police officer said on Wednesday. A Cameroonian soldier has also died during a cross-border incursion from neighbouring Nigeria by Boko Haram militants, a senior Cameroonian military source said.
