New MTN CEO in Nigeria for talks over $5.2bn fine

South Africa MTN Group’s Chief Executive Phuthuma Nhleko was in Nigeria, a source with knowledge of the matter told Reuters, as a deadline to pay a $5.2 billion fine for failing to disconnect unregistered SIM cards approached.
MTN has said it was continuing talks with the authorities in Nigeria over the fine.
Nhleko was named executive chairman of MTN for a period of up to six months after Sifiso Dabengwa stepped down as CEO with immediate effect on Monday.

JOKE: AKPORS: Like father, like son

Akpors and his father were visiting the shopping mall for the first time. The walls opened and the woman rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and Akpors and his father watched small circles of lights with numbers above the walls light up. They continued to watch the circles light up in the reverse direction. The walls opened up again and a beautiful young woman of 22 years of age stepped out. Akpors’ father said to him, DAD: “Run fast, go and bring your mother.”
