Court remands man for allegedly killing his friend with cutlass

An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded, Olukunle Ajayi, in prison over alleged murder.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 15 at Ado-Ekiti.

He said that the accused unlawfully killed his friend, Peter Ibitoye, by stabbing him with a cutlass.
He said the offence contravened Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16,Laws of Ekiti State. 2012.
He said the case file had been duplicated and sent to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
Magistrate Taiwo Ajibade ordered that the accused be remanded in prison till the outcome of DPP’s advice.
She adjourned the case till Dec. 16, for further mention.
