As the observance of traditional rites before the installation of the Ooni elect, Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, as the 51st Ooni enters the second day, ‎reports said he has been led into the power house at the Ilofi to receive spiritual power.

Investigations revealed that ‎the traditional council members known as Isoros at the Ilofi Shrine bathed him with traditional herbs and later made to communicate with deities in order to fortify him spiritually.

The source disclosed that the Ooni elect must be clothed in white apparel before certain traditional sacrifices could be offered and made acceptable by the gods.
He added that:“Cows and rams would be killed while their blood would be used to sprinkle the ground in accordance to the dictate of the gods.Other rites to be performed on the Ooni elect include lighting of the ancient traditional lamps. Each of the lamps has its significant role in the ancient town.None of the rituals could be exempted because they should be compulsorily carried out to appease gods if positive results are to be experienced after all.”
