Roof on fire! 50 Houses, Farmlands Destroyed In Taraba State

Tragedy struck on the eve of Eid-el-Kabir celebration at Osogbo, Osun State when two children of the same parents were consumed in a fire outbreak.
The incident occurred when a supermarket located within the premises of a filling station suddenly caught fire while the wife of the manager of the station and three of her children were trapped in the inferno.

It was gathered that the woman made effort to rescue one of the children and also got burnt severely before help came from neighbours and the fire fighters.
Properties worth millions of naira including a Toyota saloon car parked in the premises of the supermarket were gutted by fire.
Director, Osun State Fire Service, Michael Ogundipe, while speaking with newsmen confirmed the death of the kids.
“We even sent two vehicles, the two vehicles could have been here immediately but there was congestion on the road.
“We met the fire burning but all our efforts were to no avail. Because the building construction was not good, there is only one exit in the building. If there were more than one exit, the people who died would have been saved,” he said.
