Nollywood Now Second Biggest Producer Of Films In The World

Nollywood, Nigeria’s film industry, is now priced at $5 billion and makes more films than Hollywood in the U.S, but less than the largest film industry, India’s Bollywood, according to Al Jazeera.
Nigeria's film industry has only 14 cinemas available to a country that is home to more than 170 million people. Each week, Nollywood creates as many as 50 original Nigerian films.

These films are created for a price range starting from $10,000 or below, and are later placed directly onto DVDs to be sold by movie hubs and hawkers in the street.
Nollywood is an industry that has high turnover and challenges the western mode of storytelling. It also employs an astounding number of citizens without government or foreign aid, making it also the second largest industry by number of employees in the country.

Oshiomhole, wife postpone honeymoon

There were indications on Saturday that the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, and his newly-wedded wife, Iara, have postponed their much expected honeymoon till June. Governor Oshiomhole had on Friday married former Miss Iara Fortes, an ex-model from Cape Verde, at a marriage ceremony witnessed by a large turnout of dignitaries from various sectors of the country and he was expected to proceed on a honeymoon with the new First Lady. But it was gathered that the couple had placed their honeymoon on hold in order to attend the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) scheduled for May 29 in Abuja. Informed sources disclosed that the new couple might have their honeymoon in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The source said, “They are still in Nigeria. They will go for their honeymoon maybe in June.”
