Eight Persons Die in Plateau Explosion

Eight (8) persons have lost their lives in an explosion which occurred from the Chlorine Cylinder of the Plateau State Water Board Treatment plant located at Dogon Karfe, Jos-South Local Government Area of the state capital.

Confirming the incident to newsmen in Jos, on Saturday, Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, described the ugly incident as unfortunate.


Governor Lalong, in a statement issued through his media Aide, Emmanuel Nanle, sympathized with the families of eight victims (8) who lost their lives as a result of the excess Chlorine Inhalation from the explosion.

According to Nanle, over one hundred and one (101) persons living around the area were affected from Chlorine inhalation from the treatment plant.

They are currently receiving treatment at OLA Hospital, Evangel Hospital (Jankwano), Plateau Specialist Hospital and Air force Military Hospital, wishes the 101 quick recovering.
