Kogi High Court judge regains freedom after Kidnap

A High Court judge in Kogi State, Justice Samuel Obayomi, who was kidnapped on May 25, has regained freedom after 34 days in captivity.

Justice Obayomi, who is the judge of Ebogogo High Court in Adavi local government of Kogi State, was kidnapped on May 25, at about 8:45 am, by a three-member gang while on his way to the office.

The kidnappers had demanded N150 million ransom for his release.

It was gathered that Justice Obayomi was released on Saturday night by his abductors, who dumped him along the road.

The state police commissioner, Mr Samuel Ogunjemilusi, confirmed the release, but could not confirm if any ransom was paid. Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasir Ajanah, also confirmed the development.
