Police Corporal Kills Inspector, Girlfriend And Self

A police corporal reportedly killed his senior colleague, an inspector in the Karu Town, near the CBN Junction, yesterday evening over a woman.

He also killed the woman, who was a recharge card seller, after which he killed himself.

The corporal claimed he was interested in the recharge card seller, simply known as Chidinma, Leadership reports.

According to an eyewitness, the corporal saw the inspector and the recharge seller sitting together over some bottles of soft drinks and alighted from the vehicle he was in.

He accosted them, accusing the inspector of encroaching into his territory. He also accused the lady of unfaithfulness, saying he had invested a lot in her.

The inspector ordered him to leave the place or he would be dealt with. Instead of obeying the order, the corporal threatened to shoot the recharge card seller so none of them would have her.

The enraged corporal then cocked his rifle, killed the card seller and the inspector, after which he aimed the rifle at his own head and killed himself.

The incident was said to have caused pandemonium in the area as residents and passers-by thronged the place to get a glimpse of the three bodies lying in pools of blood.

Some police officers later arrived and took away the corpses.

Some months back, a police corporal killed a commanding officer of Mopol10 of the Bauchi state police command. The Mopol, Superintendent Chris L. Eza was shot to death by the corporal while on routine visit to a checkpoint along Ahmadu Bello way.

What African Leaders should not do to save their Economies after COVID-19

Originally published on Herald Newspaper.   “When men attain power, they go crooked.” This piece is coming from an author, I, and the introductory quote is quite dubious enough but the truth is perpetually bitter. To open the curtain on this important discussion, I would like to congratulate several African leaders on the various precautionary measures they have instigated to hamper the raging spread of this plague. They should know that this is the dawn of a new era and certainly not the time to cast aspersions on who bears the onus or play politics on the suffering proletarians. Those residing in the hinterlands have successfully lost their sources of livelihood as almost every country has embarked on complete lockdown. The private sector, considered as elites, are even battling on how to pay their employees who are now on official vacation. The government as a whole cannot import their needs and have to dig into their reserves to try to keep every Tom, Dick, and Harr...
