Three yet-to-be-identified people have reportedly died after drinking palm wine mixed with a concoction at Ilepa Quarters in Ikare Akoko, the headquarters of the Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State on Saturday. The deceased were said to have consumed the palm wine in the house of a friend of theirs, identified as Azeez who allegedly prepared the drink. Azeez was said to have served the drink while celebrating his birthday on the fateful day. A source narrated that the palm wine allegedly contained some substances called gegemu and maladol. The substances were reportedly mixed with the palm wine in order to intoxicate the consumers.
