Toolz Finally Featured on The Latest Issue Of Diaspora Quarterly Magazine

Toolz has landed her first magazine cover since becoming the ‘future Mrs. Oniru-Demuren’ as she covers the latest issue of Diaspora Quarterly. She narrated her story of her how she came back to Nigeria for Three months to start a career but luck shined on her when her first audition became the point in which her talent and hidden potentials where unleashed. "April of this year makes it 6 years since I moved back to Nigeria… honestly still one of the biggest decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve always been super cautious with all my decisions and moving to another country and pretty much starting again career-wise was something that didn’t sit right with me for a while. In 2008 I prayed about it and the next thing I knew I’m on a flight to Lagos in April 2009, to give things a 3 month ‘trial. Funny enough, being ‘Toolz the Media Personality’ was never the plan…but I guess God had different plans for me. Ropo Akin of Cokobar UK had told me about a new radio station (@thebeat999fm) in Nigeria that was hiring. I got to Lagos, contacted them and was expecting a no because I didn’t have an experience AT ALL as a presenter. I did a voice test, and the rest like they say is history. 6 years on, I’m still not sure how it all happened. When I get emails from people in different parts of the world saying I inspire them…I really don’t know what to say. So if you’ve come up to me and told me you’re a fan and I act funny, forgive me I’m just trying to absorb and understand it lol. ‎‏Thank you God for everything!! The magazine takes a look at some of the best arts and culture scenes in Nigeria while also checking out some tourism spots. The May edition of the magazine, which aims to celebrate Nigerians at home and abroad, also highlights efforts by Nigerians in the Diaspora to contribute to the “Bring Back Our Girls” movement, and lauds some young Nigerians such as Samila Ibrahim and Donald Ekeh, whose educational achievements have put them in the spotlight in the US.
