President of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Angel Maria Villar has been named acting chairman of the World Cup Organising Committee.
The Spaniard takes over as Uefa's representative in the body, with current interim Fifa president Issa Hayatou also joining as the world organisation's man while Hany Abo Rida represents the CAF.
With 851 qualifying matches scheduled for Russia 2018, the committee has formed a specific bureau and emergency bureau to organise the various preliminary competitions.
Sheik Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has been entrusted with chairing the two bureaus.
Villar, 65, has been in charge of Spanish football since 1988.
The Bilbao native also took over as acting Uefa president as a result of Michel Platini's suspension, as the Frenchman faces a probe for alleged irregular payments.
The Fifa Executive Committee, which set the February 26 as the date for new elections on Tuesday, will hold its next meeting in Zurich on December 2nd and 3rd.
