Stalked? Enugu Police vows to investigate death of couple murdered in their sleep


The Enugu State Police Command has declared that anyone who is apprehended in connection with the murder of one Mr. Marcel Abah and his wife, Jacinta, in the Igboeze North Local Government Area of the state, will pay squarely.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Enugu on Thursday.
Amaraizu recalled that the married couple, residing at Amaja, a community located on the border between Enugu and Benue states, were on 21st September, attacked by unknown persons and had their throats slit while they were asleep.
According to him, Marcel and Jacinta were asleep when, at about 2:00 am, unknown hoodlums invaded their home and slit their throats, adding that the dead bodies of the couple were discovered by neighbors, who alerted the police, later in the morning.
Amaraizu added that the couple bled to death before they were discovered. He also noted that the police would carry out an autopsy on the corpses as investigative measures.
Speaking further, the PPRO noted that the police had commenced full scale investigations into the incident and stressed that the perpetrators would not go unpunished.
Meanwhile, the remains of the couple had been deposited in the mortuary at Ogurute General Hospital.
