Man found drowned in Demi Moore's swimming pool

Actress was not home at the time of the incident, which coroners have called an accidental drowning.

A man has been found dead in the swimming pool of actress Demi Moore's Los Angeles home.

Coroner's officials said on Sunday a 21-year-old man had accidentally drowned in the backyard pool.

Moore was not home at the time of the drowning and her assistant was having a gathering at the home with about half-a-dozen people, including the man who drowned, said Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

Celebrity website TMZ, citing law enforcement sources, said the man did not know how to swim and appeared to have slipped and fallen into the pool.

Lt. Corral said the man was found dead at 5.30 am local time on Sunday. Los Angeles police arrived at the home in west Los Angeles after a 911 emergency call.

Sgt. A. Bone said Moore was not home at the time, and the man is not a family member. He was associated to someone with access to the pool. His identity has not been released.

A small crowd was around the man's body when police officers arrived.

Authorities said Moore's children have been having pool parties at the home in recent days, but it is unclear if a party was ongoing when the drowning occurred.
