Egypt pull out of 2015 All African Games football event



The north African country have withdrawn from the football events of Brazzaville 2015 according to the Confederation of African Football
Egypt have withdrawn from participating in the men and women’s football events of the 2015 All African Games billed for Brazzaville in September.

This was made known by the Confederation of African Football without stating reasons for their decision.
Samson Siasia’s Dream Team VI were billed to battle the Pharaohs in the men’s football event alongside Senegal and Ghana in Group B, while the Egyptian women were zoned with Cameroon, Ghana and South Africa.
In accordance with Article 19 (B) of the regulations which states “If a team withdraws after having qualified for the Final Tournament, but before the actual start of the Final Tournament, the Organizing Committee may replace it by the last team it has eliminated, if the circumstances are favourable…”
The two teams eliminated by Egypt in the qualifiers, Senegal (Women) and Burundi (Men) are considered to replace Egypt.
The tournament will be held from 6 – 18 September 2015 in Brazzaville, Congo.
